Banners Integration Documentation

1. Prerequisites:

To integrate Banners, please complete the following steps:

  1. 1. Create a SuperRewards Publisher account on www.srpoints.com
  2. 2. Log in and create a new application for your account;
    (NOTE: if the application to which you will be adding banners already exists in srpoints.com, you do not need to create a new one).

2. Linking to Cubics:

If you have an existing cubics.com publisher account that you want to link to your SuperRewards account, you will need to contact your Cubics account manager.

When you sign in to www.srpoints.com, click the "Apps" link on the menu to the right:

Find the application in which you want to display banners and select the "Get Ads" link:

A modal dialog will display with the option to either create a new application in cubics or link your application to an existing Cubics application. If you've never logged in to the Cubics system, the dialog will look as follows:

By default, Cubics creates a default application for you; that's what "Default-Facebook" signifies. Clicking "Create" allows you to create a new application within the Cubics system. If on the other hand you have already created the application within Cubics, the application name should show up on the right:

Both options redirect to the "Get Cubics ad tags" page:

As indicated, the channel name is used for reporting purposes, so you may leave it blank if you wish. The next section allows you to choose the ad style you wish to insert in the application; changing the ad style causes the text area at the bottom to change. This text area, under "Choose your ad code type, then copy and paste the code into your site," contains the code you need to insert into your application to start displaying banners. In addition, you can specify whether your application runs in an iframe or uses FBML.

For instance, choosing Rectangle (300 x 250) and Iframe results in the following:

<!--- Cubics.com Ad Code START -->
<script type='text/javascript'>
var pfid = '';// Insert user identifier
var pid = 362045;
var appId = 141662;
var plid = 24005;
var adSize = '300x250';
var channel = '';
var frameSize = '300x250';
</script>
<script language='javascript' type='text/javascript' src='http://social.bidsystem.com/displayAd.js'> </script>
<!--- Cubics.com Ad Code END -->

You can choose as many combinations as you wish. It is up to you where you want to put the banners in your application.

3. Customizing Banners:

To customize Banners, you'll need to sign in to the Cubics website. Do so by signing in from the www.srpoints.com home page. Doing so opens a new window:

Figure 3a: www.srpoints.com main page

The first screen shows statistics about your banners, and is described in detail below. The first thing you will want to do is choose the categories of advertisements that are allowable in your application. To do so, choose "filter ad content" from the adserver menu:

The Ad Filter screen allows you to choose the ad categories and allowed content for all applications, for individual applications or for entire platforms (facebook, myspace, etc.). Choose an application or platform using the "Application Settings For" drop-down.

It is recommended that you create a default ad to display in the event a user views all the ads available to him or her. In the majority of cases a user will never encounter this. However, in some countries there is limited ad inventory. To create a default ad, choose "manage default ads" from the adserver menu.

Figure 3d: Default Ad Code

The Default Ad Code page allows you to specify default ad code for each size ad. When specifying default ads, you may use any HTML or Javascript you would like to use, including links or 3rd Party ad networks.

Finally, you can view, add, and edit your applications in Cubics through the "manage applications" menu item under "manage applications:"

The manage applications page is shown below:

4. Banner Statistics:

After implementing banners in your application, it will be a few hours before statistics are available for your application. You can get a summary of your banners' performance on the www.srpoints.com home page. (You may need to refresh the page to see the stats:)

Figure 4a: www.srpoints.com Banner Performance Summary

You can get detailed information about your banners' performance by clicking the "Login" link at the bottom of the summary. Clicking this link displays the Cubics Account Summary Page:

The options at the top of the Account Summary page allow you to manipulate how the Account Summary page displays your data.
